Alex Burns and Kain Borlase have been performing and recording since 2010 initially as part of the Alex Burns & Jen Hawley project exploring the combination of Blues meets Early jazz.
Alex’s career is well documented in the broad repertoire of American string styles.
Double Bassist Kain Borlase comes from the hot bed of jazz and swing, working with a number of artists and groups, including The Ken Schroder Quartet,Mark Locket trio.Peter and Andy Baylor,Julie O,hara,Alan Lee,Ted Vining and the Brunswick Blues shooters, participated in numerous tours and festivals.
From the first time they performed as a duo, they realised they had a unique sound, full but also sparse, the combination of Alex, Resophonic instruments and Kain’s double bass creating a sound that evades time and trends.
